Mie N Yu

Unlike any other restaurant in the DC metropolitan area, Mie N Yu combines tastes from across the stretches of the Silk Road. They have an excellent and very innovative menu that is perfectly proportioned, prepared, and served. Nothing makes you feel more at home than having a knowledgeable waiter (which, in my experiences here, have been all of them) handing you a wine-pairing booklet (yours to keep) and ideas on how to improve your dining experience.
Beyond the food and service themselves, both of which are fantastic, the design and layout of this urban treasure is unlike anything you've ever seen before. The Tibetan Room, on the top floor, is filled with bed-like seating. Tables hang next to the staircase in large bird cages, and next to the bar is a traditional Moraccan wedding tent.
This unique dining experienced, sure to impress any first-time guests you bring, is worth the extra 10-20 dollars one must pay to park in Georgetown. Make a night of it - go out for ice cream and a walk along the Potomac afterwards. The extra money for parking is well worth the enjoyment of a fantastically cooked meal, served by one of the most invariably upbeat, smart, and entertaining waiting staff I have encountered. A true experience is to be had at Mie N Yu.
